The Emperor of Atlantis, the most significant work written in the Theresienstadt concentration camp is an outspoken criticism against the Nazi regime. An allegorical piece combining clear allusions to the present and the daily events at the ghetto, the hunger, the density, the poor hygienic conditions that resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of people.
