The Independent Musicians Organization

The Independent Musicians Organization was created after the Felicja Blumental association began aiding independent musicians to manage their work in 2003. In 2009, the association was acknowledged as a successful organization in regards to promoting the musical activities of independent music groups that were deemed worthy to receive support from the Culture Administration – Ministry of Culture and Sport. After 9 years of activity with over 50 music groups in classical music, jazz and and Jewish traditional music, it’s safe to determine that this project created a new scene in the musical activity in Israel. Chamber opera, contemporary music, jazz ensembles, Persian music, Yemeni music, Kurdish, and the creation of unique festivals like Tzlil Meudcan, the Schubertiade, Vox Feminae and Guitar Week – these initiatives lead the activity of the organization of endowing music culture across many circles domestically and abroad.
